Most of us have too much stuff. We collect and keep lots of things to remind us of the events in our lives. It’s great that we like to keep our memories alive, but do we need to keep everything in our homes? Or could we use some storage space to sort out our lives? Here we look at some smart reasons you might like to store some of your stuff.
Run out of space
This happens to most of us. We simply like stuff too much. If you can’t bear to be parted with the things you’ve collected, then why not put some of it (all of it) into storage? You’ll still be able to get your things whenever you like, they’ll just not be taking over your house on a day-to-day basis any more. You’ll notice how much more space you have instantly. And, who knows, you might even decide that you don’t need to keep all your stuff. But if you still love it all, you can always keep storing it with us.
Renovating
If you’re doing some work on your house, it’s much easier to store things than constantly move them for room to room to make space as you go.
Store your collections
Our storage units are safe and secure. So, if you’ve got a collection that you love, but perhaps your other half doesn’t love quite so much, you can store it with us. Safe in the knowledge that it’ll be in exactly the same condition any time you want to say hello.
Store gardening equipment for the winter
Lots of gardening equipment isn’t required over the winter months. So why not get it out of the road? Whatever size the equipment you have is, we can help. We’ll keep it locked up and safe until spring’s here and it’s time to head outdoors again. Or you could stick it in the garage and spend the next six months moving things about to get to what you actually need. We know what the smarter choice is.
Making room for a new family member
If you’re adding a new member to the family, it can help to move everything out of the room you want to decorate. It makes it easier to actually decorate the room. And it means that any furniture you want to look great for the baby is in pristine condition – no need for trying to remove drips of paint or trying to work out what removes wallpaper paste.
Travelling
If you’re heading off for a wee bit longer than the usual two weeks, then it can make sense to store your possessions while you’re away. You might be lucky and have a friend or family member who can store things for you. Just make sure that your stuff’s going to be safe and secure. You don’t really want to be sticking your things into the back corner of a garage or a shed. If you do, then your stuff is quite likely to suffer from damp. So, remove the worry and let us look after your things.
Life’s unexpected big changes
This is one we hope never happens. But, unfortunately, this one happens to us all at some point. The things we don’t see coming, like divorce, redundancy or even a death. When life challenges, short-term storage can give you the space you need to decide what you want to do.
Working away from home
If your work takes you away from home for an extended period, you might decide to rent out your home. Short-term storage means you can keep the things you love safe for when you return to your own home.
Moving home/family moving out
If you’re downsizing, then you might want some time to decide what you really want to keep and what you can happily live without. So, pop your things into short-term storage and, once you move, make a list of the things you realise you want. It can save you from keeping too much stuff and also make sure you don’t get rid of things you still love.
Temporary visitors staying with you
If you have family or friends coming to stay, you might want to make some room for them. Short-term storage allows you to make your spare room look like a guest room, and then easily make it yours again once your guests leave.
